Nanaimo is fortunate to have a free food bank for pets, located at the Salvation Army at 505 Eighth St in Harewood. I asked Marie with the Salvation Army to answer some questions about the service.
1. What does the Pet Food Bank offer? The Pet Food Bank offers free dog and cat food, cat litter, leashes and collars, and pet kennels as donated!
2. How often can clients come for help? Community members can visit once a week. We are open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
3. Where do the supplies/donations come from? We pick up donations from Bosleys, University Village Mall, Bosleys on Bowen Road and from the SPCA.
4. Who can I contact with questions? Marie Naylor, Family Services Worker 250-753-8834 extension 409.
Thanks so much to Marie for the information!
